He has both the technical skill and the musical intuition to be able to jump between genres and sounds without sounding artificial." Dirty Linen Neil Anderson is one of the most versatile, innovative and energetic bagpipers ever to hit the stage. One of the original founding members of America’s Celtic Rock powerhouse Seven Nations, Neil helped make that group the most successful (and subsequently most imitated) Celtic Rock band in North America, selling nearly 100,000 CDs without a distribution deal. Neil left Seven Nations in 1998, and has since performed with everybody from Black 47 to The Chieftains as well as producing his own cutting-edge projects. Since 2003, Neil has been touring with Rathkeltair, a band he put together with Seven Nations’ original drummer, Nick Watson, and Trevor Tanner, formerly the frontman for 80’s UK underground rock icons The Bolshoi. "Among the performers I will most remember this year...Neil and his band had audiences going wild during both their Folk Fest sets." Pennsylvania Musician Magazine
"Anderson puts on a performance that musicians dream about- clicking on all cylinders." The Watauga Democrat
"Watching Neil in action is a glory to behold!" The Atlanta Celtic Quarterly
"Anderson is a phenomenal musician who turns musical conformity and stereotyping into Swiss cheese and then melts that into a fondue." The Farmville Herald
"…bagpipes beyond reason, combined with rocking riffs and totally cool songs…" Chaos Realm |
